I may go back as a councilor, but I just don't know where my life's gonna be in 3-4 years.
Anyway, this year was cold and wet. We had rain every day, though the worst was monday and tuesday. It just DOWNPOURED. And I had to get up at 7:00 every day! The horror! Not really. It it wasn't too bad.
My contract classes were Extreme Creative Journaling and Middle Eastern Dance. ECJ was fun. I had an eccentric moment with one of my journal pages, which was good. I cut out a picture of old wooden shutters and a picture of mountains and made it so when the shutters were opened you could see the mountains. It was fun. The glue didn't always work, though. Middle Eastern Dance (aka bellydancing) was less fun. I mean, hip circles are all good, but the required dancers smile just made me irritable, and the councilor teaching us didn't know exactly the routine well enough to teach us. That and I couldn't master this one dance move. We ended up having to perform it at Free Expression. I didn't want too, but I did it.
Speaking of Free Expression, I performed the song "Blue Hair" and it was "wonderful, super, fantastic, coolness, remarkable!" Ok, I sang it too high, but it was all in tune for the higher key! I also sang "For Good" from wicked with a group of graduating senior girls on the last night, and it was SO sad! I feel bad for not crying, because I should have. We also got read the book "Oh, The Places You'll Go". I love that book.
My outfits were as follows: Monday: Fake Bling Day, I wore layered necklaces and my starry night top. Tuesday: Stuffed Animal Day, squirrel thermal and Hedwidgen stuffed owl (I kept talking about it's pair: Pigwig). Wednesday: Legacy Day, I wore my Calvin t-shirt under my A Cappella hoodie. Thursday: Sports Apparel Day, I went with my Kung Fu sash over my class t-shirt, and Friday: Christmas, I wore a teal blue t-shirt and a scarf I found that matched it perfectly.
During Morning Praise, we were given a theme for the day, and they were: Bee Transformed, Bee Thankful, Bee-lieve, Bee Patient, and Bee United. Yay for Christian themes!
Every evening we had an activity. Monday it was too rainy to do anything, so we stayed in and played board games. I LOVE playing Apples to Apples. Tuesday we had the Olympics. Indoors for the 3rd year in a row, but it was fun. The theme was "Squares" or more correctly, "Things that rhyme with the word 'Squares'". Fun stuff. Wednesday was Skit Night, and if it was a contest, my cabin would have won. We took the song "Summer Nights" from Grease, and changed it into "Choir Camp Nights". It was epic. I'll post the lyrics if you want them. Another good skit I saw was one of the senior high guys cabins. They lipsynced "Bohemian Rhapsody" and it was SO cool. Thursday was the Holy Grail Quest. Mostly we were asked to rearrange our group in different ways, like fitting onto benches in certain patterns, or in lines by color, or by height. *grumblegrumble* I was the shortest in my group. I graduated HIGH SCHOOL and I'm still shorter than 6th graders! Not fair, I tell you. Friday we had the Dance. It was fun. We had a MJ tribute, and I learned that I can NOT do "The Thriller". FAIL.
Our concert was on Saturday morning, and, oh! I had two descant parts! The first one was a solo, and the second with a group. I was the director's favorite this year.
Oh, another tidbit. The choir formally known as "Elementary Choir" changed their name to "The Believers Choir" this year. Of course the choir formally known as "Youth Choir" got a little upset at this and we decided to change out name to "The Dave Gladstone Experience, Featuring Denise and the Beyond Belief Choir." Yeah. We're cool like that.
After the concert (which we didn't mess up at all), Dad, Ben and I went to Mackinaw. We got lunch, then went up to Sault Saint Marie, then went back to Mackinaw for dinner and fudge. It was Fourth of July, btw, so it was MAJORLY crowded. Too crowded. We went back to our hotel, and we all fell asleep by 9:30. Completely slept through the fireworks. I was exhausted.
Now I'm home, and I think I've got a summer cold. Whatever. Just hoping it will go away soon.

Now, Deathly Hallows was great and everything...but I seriously think the movies are going to be better than the book. I CAN'T WAIT!

By the way. How'd your second viewing go?

As for Deathly Hallows, I haven't got a clue as to when it's coming out. Perhaps next summer or maybe during the fall/winter holidays. Dunno. It's going to make EPIC movies.

And now, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

But yeah, that was weird. The whole Lavender thing was weird. But oh well. They got the point across beautifully. What frosted my cookies was that they only put in TWO memories. TWO! That's what I was looking forward to!!! GRRRRR!!! But besides that, the crappy Ginny acting (why'd they make Bonnie Wright act all stupidly seductive?), the crappy Harry/Ginny kiss, and the fact that at the battle at the end...THERE WAS NO BATTLE! But besides that, it really was a good movie. ^^
